Hutton Settlement

  • Providing hope, opportunity and life to children and families most in need in the Inland Northwest
  • For 101 years, Hutton Settlement has remained focused on caring for the children of our community, regardless of their backgrounds. Despite new challenges being present, our model has remained centered around serving children, families and community.

Founded in 1919, Hutton Settlement provides safe and healthy living opportunities for children, ages 5 to 18 in need of a long-term alternative home.

It is our vision that through excellence in residential care and family engagement, the Hutton Settlement will empower each child to lead an independent and fulfilled life of value and contribution. Eligibility consists of boys and girls that are in need of long-term residential group care whether they are already in state care or need to be privately placed. Our model of care is guided by the Circle of Security attachment-based parenting method and the staff at Hutton recognize the importance of investment in both time and resources for children and families, and thus, we provide high quality long-term care for little to no cost. We believe deep change and healing occurs, not from a brief stay focused solely on behavioral management practices, but on secure, attuned relationships focused on building strengths and assets for healthy living. In partnership with the child’s family, this approach fosters trust, and empowers children to explore the world with confidence, wonder and hope. Since its inception, Hutton continues to be a valuable option for sibling groups.

Due to the complex trauma faced by many of our children, we invest in building capacities and skills in emotional intelligence through social emotional learning opportunities. With this foundation, and the recognition of their varied histories of hardship, the Hutton Settlement compassionately facilitates the following programs to foster regeneration and resilience. These campus programs are supplementary to the kids’ public schooling and are focused on fostering psychological security through resonant relationships, deepening awareness/sense of belonging and increasing social cohesion and personal welfare through collective learning, work and play.

American Childhood Cancer Organization Inland Northwest’s unique mission is to help each family cope with life during childhood cancer treatments and rebuild their lives after cancer from the experienced perspective of those who have been there before. Your donations will enhance the lives of children with cancer and their families. You will be providing emotional and practical support, education, patient advocacy, and the assurance that no child or family will have to fight cancer alone.

American Childhood Cancer Organization Mission

“To educate, support, serve, and advocate for families of children with cancer, survivors of childhood cancer, and the professionals who care for them.”

We serve all children diagnosed with cancer from Eastern Washington and those traveling to Spokane, Washington from North Idaho and Western Montana for treatment. Funds raised locally remain in our communities to help children with cancer in the Inland Northwest.

…because kids can’t fight cancer alone!!!
